2019 Ohio Valley Emmy Award "News Special"

National Guard members from around the country answered the call to duty in September 2018 after Hurricane Florence ravaged the Atlantic Coast.

​

The Kentucky National Guard sent multiple units to aid North Carolina in the wake of the storm. 

​

Lisa Hutson and photojournalist Nick Goldring embedded with the 63rd Theater Aviation Brigade to Raleigh, North Carolina capturing the efforts of multiple National Guard units over a four day period filing daily reports for local news station WHAS 11. 

​

Lisa Hutson compiled the footage and interviews to produce the documentary "Call to Duty: Hurricane Florence"in December 2018. 

​

The film won acclaim from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at the 55th Annual Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Awards "News Special" in 2019.
